Registered Nurse, Med/Surg, 7A-7PMinden Medical Center of Minden, LA is seeking to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) full-time from 7A-7Pto provide exceptional patient care in our Med/Surg department.
As a Med/Surg RN you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for various patients within our facilityYou will report directly to the Med/Surg Nurse ManagerThis position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and familiesIt collaborates with various members of our healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum and requires the ability to be self-directed and quality focusedInterpersonal communication skills are a necessary function of this position.
Hours of Position:
Full-time 36/48 rotation, 36 hours on the 1st week of the rotation and 48 hours on the 2nd week of the rotation; Nights 7A-7PDepartment
Summary:
Our Med/Surg Unit is an 18 bed unit located on the 3rd floor of our hospitalThe environment on our unit is fast-paced, caring, and compassionate.
We care for a variety of patients who are being treated for CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, Dialysis, pediatric illnesses, RSV, Asthma, and dehydrationWe also treat patients with more specialized conditions such as cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology and hematology/oncology.
Our patients are unique because they have a wide variety of diagnoses, each needing specialized care.

Responsibilities:
oCollaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuumoAnalyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosisoContinually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomesoEmploys strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environmentoThe responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Current RN licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing required.
One year Medical/Surgical experience preferred; BLS through the American Heart Association Required; ACLS, PALS and CPI recommended within the first 90 days; All Med-Surg staff will be required to float between the Med/Surg floors and to other departments as needed.
